Our ten favourite things about The Reserve Paradisus Palma Real
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a few weeks since we returned from our trip with Sunwing to The Reserve Paradisus Palma Real, and we’re still talking about our week in the sun and the wonderful moments we enjoyed there as a family. You can read a full account of our trip on Sunwing’s website, but I wanted to share a list of our top picks from our trip with you here!
1. The beach
It’s always a good time when you’re enjoying the sun on a beautiful beach! All the more so in Punta Cana, with palm trees lining the shore. It’s simply stunning.
2. The pools
As much as we love the beach, we also can’t pass up a great pool. Since we were staying at The Reserve, we had access to four pools (for little swimmers, children, the main pool, etc.). We were spoiled for choice!
3. Living the good life… in a chaise longue
One of my pet peeves with a beach vacation is the mad rush each morning to try to snag a shady spot for the family by the beach or the pool. At The Reserve, there were so many places to sit and relax that we never needed to reserve a spot. It was wonderful.
4. The Kids’ Club
This was a fantastic spot with games and activities for kids aged 1 to 13. There was a lounge area on site with plenty of games, so we spent lots of time here as a family – a really great feature. There were also fun outdoor activities like a climbing wall and a bungee/trampoline.
5. Olio’s pizza
We all agreed this was one of the best pizzas we’d ever tasted – yes, really, in Punta Cana!
6. Beachside sunsets
Every evening, this was our favourite place to be before supper. A gorgeous setting to relax, have a drink, play some board games... total bliss.
7. Our private garden
Yes, we had our very own private garden right outside our room! It was a real bonus. When the kids were having a shower or when one of us was taking a little longer to get ready than the others, we could enjoy this tranquil spot to relax and soak up the beautiful weather.
8. Room service
One morning, we decided to have breakfast brought to our room. It was really fun to eat outside on the deck in our pyjamas – just like we were at home!
9. The cranberry juice
I know it seems like a strange thing to mention, but we fell in love with the cranberry juice at the resort. Delicious, refreshing, and oh-so-tasty.
10. Vanilla cake and caramel ice cream
Simply the best dessert combination. Scrumptious, decadent… we couldn’t get enough!
This top ten list is making me a little bit nostalgic! This was truly a wonderful family vacation destination.
