an IOS app to help your kids
We have all been there in primary school, we had to learn our Multiplication tables. We have repeated and repeated, hundreds of time each multiplication to make sure we memorized it.

Helping your child to learn his or her tables can be and helpful way to spend them with them. However, ….
Sometimes, it is not possible…for several good reasons:

We don’t always have the time to help our kids like we would wish.
Sometimes our kids just don’t want out help and want to learn by themselves.
They may lack the motivation to learn their tables.
The tradition spoken or paper quiz method just might make learning Multiplication tables too boring for them.
Fortunately for us, we can leverage the fact that our kids LOVE to use apps on phone to kill two birds with one stone.
The project- Pierre’s IDea
Lately, I found myself with more free time around the house. That gave me the idea to create an iOS app to help kids that are stuck at home, like myself, educate themselves during confinement. I remember creating a multiplication program back in the days on my Commodore 64 (yeah I know, I am dating myself!!!) for my little sister. I remember how learning her multiplication tables became fun instead of a chore.
The concept
Most of the Multiplication apps out there focus on quizzing our children. This is fine but I wanted to do better. I wanted an app that would not only quiz children but also teach them their tables.
This means that you don’t need to wait for your child to learn his or her table before you use the app. You can give the app to your child and the app will do the teaching and the quizzing.
It adapts to your child
The app will start by randomly asking the multiplications from the chosen table in order to discover the multiplications your child already know and of course also discover the multiplications they don’t know as well to then focus on those hard ones.
Since the app will ask again the multiplications that were missed, some children will complete a multiplication table in 5, others in 10 or even 15 minutes.
Maintain motivation level
In order to maintain the motivation level of your child, the app rewards your kid when they answer correctly with a randomly chosen applause sound, to make it sound a bit different each time.
When your child makes a little mistake, a funny sound effect will tell him or her that the answer is not the right one without making your child feel too too bad.
Keep track of your child’s progress
When your child completes a table, the app will display statistics telling you which multiplications they found had the hardest time with in order for you to understand the hard work they went through and also help you decide if they will need a refresher session in the app, tomorrow.
